History

Coach bobby11 of Anchorage was the one who recruited me to this game and we text almost daily talking trash about recruits and our different teams. Annapolis has played Anchorage less than some of its other rivals, but these two teams meet, there is pride on the line like in no other contest.

The Annapolis Ironclads and the Anchorage Apostles first met in the Season 62 Inferno preseason tournament. This tournament was organized by Bobby to get the group of his friends who play DTL into a competitive preseason tournament together. As Bobby's most addicted friend, he made sure to put our teams in the same group.

Annapolis, of course, won the first matchup 98-93! Despite being outrebounded 40-23, the red-hot Ironclads drained 12 of 25 3-point attempts and the Apostles just couldn't keep up. SF Brad Judge led the charge for Annapolis scoring 25 points in 19 minutes on 9/13 shooting and 4/6 from deep.

Then, in a move of great cowardice, Bobby "had to" rearrange the Inferno groups for future seasons in the name of "tournament balance," so these two hated rivals did not meet again until season 66. When the Inferno schedule was once again kind to these foes, Annapolis once again defeated the Apostles. This matchup was studded with two superstars, Chico Curry and Charlie Smith, who went off for 36 and 39 points respectively. Anchorage again won the rebounding battle, 27-18, but Annapolis was just too savvy, getting to the free throw line 24 times and making 22 of those shots. Annapolis wins 82-73.
