Morgantown's (so) Don Taylor caught some heat after giving up a buzzer-beater to Bangor's J. B. Allers in Game #15 and it appears Coach Blue had Taylor contained again as Taylor shot 7-19 for the game. But it was his last shot which will be remembered. Shedding Phil Rockett at the 0:09 mark, he slashed to the basket, took a pass from Brian Griffin and slammed the ball home for the game winner. Wow!

Roland Luis would not be denied in his senior campaign. After a rough regular season, Luis single-handedly took the Rhinos to the level of Champions. Entering the tournament as the third best team in the North and a 5th seed; Rochester knocked of Montpelier (#4), Bangor (#1) and Morgantown (#2). Luis compiled 70 points, 3 assists, 4 steals and 1 MVP honor.

Montpelier stumbled down the stretch, dropping game #10 to Erie, #11 to Bangor and #15 to Concord and finished a dissapointing 3rd in the Conference. But senior swingman Travis McCormick was not going to be denied again, he graciously wore his big smile, waved to the fans and proceeded to have one of the best Conference 6 Tournament performances in years. Against Concord he scored 27 (11-18, 2-6, 3-4), grabbed 7 boards and had 2 blocks. Seeking revenge against Erie, he posted 37 (14-20, 1-2, 8-9), grabbed 9 boards, had 1 block and 2 steals. And finally, seeking revenge against the team he tormented two seasons early, he posted 26 (11-19, 2-4, 2-2) and 8 boards against Bangor.

Sanford Wick was Coach Blue's first star, a very versatile player who blossomed at SF but humbly accepted his assignment at PF his senior year. In the Conference Championship game he was matched up against the conference super-star, Montpelier's Travis McCormick. Wick responded with his best collegiate game; scoring 30 points (11-14, 2-2, 6-7), 5 rebounds and 2 assist. But more importantly, he held McCormick to 17 points.

And Bangor won their first double since cycle 42 under legendary coach Coachjkb.

In Coach Blue's last season coaching the previous regime's recruiting class, Coach Blue took Bangor on an unprecedented run through the field, avoiding their long time nemesis Camden and slaying the giants of the conference, the Concord Minutemen in the Championship game. Coach Blue jostled the lineup for the Championship game, asking (sr) captain Norman McKinley to come off the bench (scored 12 points), started defensive specialist and career backup Sean Fuller at center (forcing Andy Torres into a poor shooting night (4-13) and taking the leash off 'Fair' Zachary Rosen. The Bears entered halftime down butroared back against a gassing Concord team; eventually taking the lead on a Zachary Rosen's majestically arced three. Once the Bears took the lead, they never looked back and as they say, the rest is history.

The amazing shooting guard of Morgantown, Bart Seeger was electric in his junior year as he led Morgantown to their 4t straight tournament championship. He scored 17 (8-13, 1-3, 0-1), 27 (11-18, 2-3, 3-3) and 17 (6-10, 1-2, 4-5) to bring home tournament MVP honors.
