Michael Sylvestre dropped 43 points on Olympia on 16 of 23 shooting (he'd finish the tourney with 80 points) in their run-and-gun, 213 point battle. In the other side Salt Lake City and Tucson went to OT where SLC's spread of scorers eventually overcame Tucson's Ginn/McLain tandem. The final didn't disappoint either with only a bucket separating the two teams. | ||

Salt Lake City vs Olympia was epic in the semi final, but the Mormon then ran into Tucson who repeat on the backs of Montez Edick and Raymond Salazar. Edick in particular was sensational all tourney totalling 55p 14a to 3to.

Tucson finally put an end to Salt Lake City's reign of dominance over the conference tourney. SLC simply ran out of legs after OT games in both of the first two rounds.

Both the semi-finals and the final were thrillers, but once again it was Salt Lake City winning by committee. Butch Hurd stepping up off the bench with 17p (FG:8/11) and 6 rebounds in 19 minutes. Heartbreak for Olympia who lose 2 finals by a combined 3 points in the past two seasons.

Long Beach had dominated the conference with 11 IC wins in a row heading into the final. Their scoring trio of McNutt, Eisen and Parish, fed by Bomhoff looked unstoppable until they ran into the Stormin' Mormon who had 7 scorers in double-digits in the final to make it back-to-back tourneys for SLC.
