Rivalry Score

Annapolis - 9, Dover - 2

History

Dover was an afterthought of a conference rival for the first few years of Coach shriek's time in Annapolis, but in season 64, Coach gohuskies landed the Dover job and began quickly turning that program around.

The Annapolis Ironclads dominated the first few years of this rivalry as Dover rebuilt, and landed 7 initial victories. The scores progressively became closer, but Annapolis was on the winning side of 92-65, 100-71, 69-57, 73-50, 82-58, 73-63, and 62-58 games.

Finally, in the C5 Tournament Championship Final of season 66, Dover drew their first blood, upsetting the Ironclads 68-58 and earning their first NTT birth. Cherokee Obrien scored 30 points in the Dairy Farmer victory.

Season 67 had added drama as the teams knew they were now on even playing ground. Dover was highly touted by the magazines as one of the most talented teams in the nation, and a handful of coaches were calling them out early in the season as a potential break-out team. Annapolis was in great form early in the season and had not forgotten the upset from last season. The Ironclads handed Dover a 79-55 whooping that served as a strong statement to start conference play. Chico Curry scored 32 and Annapolis' defense was stifling. The Ironclads also won the rebounding battle 35-24.
