Most Outstanding Freshman

Taylor Placencia (San Francisco)

There were plenty of very strong performances by freshmen in this tournament, but Taylor Placencia outperformed them all. He was the best player on the court for the Hippopotomi, and he was pretty consistent for a freshman.

Most Outstanding Player

Gregorio Simmons (Albuquerque)

It was down to Simmons and Burbank's Cody Alexander. Both had very similar stats, but in the end I decided to go with who was more consistently good. Cody had an off 2 game stretch and Simmons was very consistent. You can't go wrong with either pick, but Simmons is my pick.

6th Man Award

Jonathan Wilfong (Albuquerque) - 20 mpg, 11.2 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 0.8 stlpg, 1.2 blkpg

Jonathan split time evenly with his freshman counterpart at the SF position, but he never started a game and came in at only 20 mpg. That meets my criteria for a 6th man. Wilfong had the best stats for a bench player by far. He was not only an offensive threat, but he played some good defense too. Now that I look at this, Albuquerque is pretty much mopping up on the awards!
